Today, in the Government session Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan informed that Mane Tandilyan, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs had submitted an application for resignation, but he did not accept Mrs Tandilyan’s resignation: “Lately, after some discussions with Mrs Tandilyan we decided that we should proceed our cooperation and should also work on the issue which evokes heated discussion not only within the Government, but also among the public. I mean the funded pension system. And as agreed upon earlier with the Minister of Economic Development and Investment and the Minister of Justice, we should work to make that system more acceptable, perceptive and reliable.”
As stated by the PM, all doubts that the public and the Government have should vanish for them to be sure we pursue the right path: “The decision we made and the National Assembly verified, the core objective of which is to win time on the first place in order to hold a calm, deep and serious discussion lacking ambitiousness. At the moment we do not doubt that the system has a need of improvement in the context of the solution of the issues I mentioned and we agreed that Mrs Tandilyan will work with other members of the Government, interested ministries, representatives from the public to have a program and the overall agenda and the list of the issues in the upcoming two months and to understand how we are going to discuss the problems.”
As a response, Mane Tandilyan thanked the PM saying that the Prime Minister referred to the provisions of the funded system, inasmuch as her disagreement and the reason of her resignation were the provisions themselves: “We have an obligation of providing the reliability of that system and the approaches presented to you as underlying the core of that program which will be suggested to you will be built on them. I am ready to submit the program to the discussion of my partner ministries in a very short term.”
