The session of the European People’s Party Group of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) discusses the issue of postponing the PACE European People’s Party Chairman’s election until October.
Aravot.am asked Arpine Hovhannisyan, Head of the Armenian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, member and Vice Chairman of the European People’s Party bureau, who is attending the session, whether what developments there are, and what decision was made after all. Mrs Hovhannisyan responded: “The Group of the European People’s Party of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe decided to postpone the presidential election until October: to remain with an interim president until October, in order to better prepare for the group’s presidential election, trying to eliminate the destructive atmosphere and disagreements in the group. As you know, the group was actually split over two years, there were disagreements”.
