Liliane Maury Pasquier has been elected as new President of Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) during the summer session. She is the 32nd President of the PACE.
Let us note that there was no voting. Liliane Maury Pasquier was the only candidate. All political groups agreed on this candidacy.
In her speech, the new PACE President expressed concern about restrictions on freedom of speech in the member states, highlighted the importance of equality and the protection of minority rights. She announced: “Our response to hatred should be justice, solidarity, and consolidation”.
