“No, we do not have an unprecedented situation”, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan responded to one of the Facebook users who had made a remark that it was reported that there is an unprecedented situation on the border. The user asked if there is a threat of war, whether the situation is indeed unprecedented.
In response, Mr. Pashinyan said there is some accumulation of Azerbaijani troops: sometimes these accumulations are increasing, sometimes decreasing. The Prime Minister confirmed that there is a movement in the direction of Nakhichevan, but said he does not think there is a threat of war.
Nevertheless, Nikol Pashinyan said we should be vigilant, be ready for war every for any moment: “But that does not mean that we should deviate from our normal life. Armed forces must do their work, I do not want to say that there is no danger, I do not want to say that there is some, we work on strengthening the army every day. We have to provide the soldier’s share and comfortable conditions”.
The Prime Minister also said that as regards shootings, statistics show that they have dropped. According to him, in general, we should not forget that we are in conflict: “We have to stand firm on our feet, ready to defend our homeland. We will not start a war, it is Azerbaijan that uses military rhetoric, but I hope the Azerbaijani leadership will understand that hostilities cannot be a solution to the conflict. The clash will have unprecedented consequences”.
The same user also assured that they do not have to send parcels to their soldier anymore, besides that the soldier came home in a new, high-quality uniform. Instead, one of the users complained that their soldier says they stay hungry. Nikol Pashinyan urged to give details to solve the problem: “All army units must provide proper food, apply to the press, the government, the Prime Minister’s Oversight Service to raise the issue. Soldiers should eat properly and wear high-quality clothes”.
