The President of the Standing Committee of Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Ashotyan published on his Facebook: “In days German and later on Azerbaijani media agencies published that German “Rheinmetall” corporation had signed a letter of intent with the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan on cooperation in military-industrial field. The mentioned corporation is a giant producer of military technology. I think if this agreement is brought to life, it will break the German law on military technology supply to conflict zones and international duties. As the President of the Standing Committee of Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of Armenia and the head of Armenia-Germany Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group I will officially apply to the colleagues in German Bundestag to receive an explanation and invite their attention to this issue. Such agreement contributes to the increase of the instability in South Caucasus from the perspective of promoting Azerbaijan’s bellicose and Armenophobic policy, as well as the competition for military technology in the region. I will inform you about the process.”
