The Azerbaijani Armed Forces tried to carry out engineering works to strengthen their positions in Nakhichevan, and the Armenian armed forces opened fire and did not allow the opponent to fulfill its task. A skirmish took place. The enemy fired at Zangakatun village of Ararat province, where a fire broke out and firefighters tried to extinguish it.
The opponent opened fire at firefighters, citizens, and soldiers working in that territory. Spokesman of the Defense Ministry Artsrun Hovhannisyan told Aravot.am that he had not yet received any further information.
In response to the question whether how many casualties there were, he said he was aware only of one wounded soldier, and that he had noted about that in his Facebook post. Artsrun Hovhannisyan particularly wrote: “One of the opponents’ positions has been completely destroyed and burned due to the firing. During the skirmish, Vahagn Samvel Baghdasaryan, born in 1974, who is a contract soldier in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, was slightly wounded”.
