Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the heads of delegations participating in the CIS Interstate Anticorruption Council’s meeting: Deputy Chairman of CIS Executive Committee Agibai Smagulov, Prosecutor General of Belarus Alexander Konyuk, Prosecutor General of Kyrgyzstan Otkurbek Djamshitov, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Vladimir Malinovsky, Executive Secretary of CIS Prosecutors General Steering Committee Leonid Yermolayev, and Head of Kazakh Agency for State Service and Corruption Alik Shpekbayev.
Greeting the guests, the Prime Minister stressed the need for developing cooperation between the Prosecutor’s Offices of Armenia and the Commonwealth of Independent States and improving the mechanisms of cooperation in the field of legal assistance. Nikol Pashinyan noted that the Government of Armenia is waging an uncompromised struggle against corruption, which will be continued ahead in order to step up the pace of Armenia’s further development.
The Head of Government expressed hope that cooperation between the CIS prosecutors will be expanded to help improve efficiency in the fight against corruption, strengthen legality and promote human rights.
The meeting participants touched upon the prospects of cooperation, as well as the opportunities and directions for the CIS Interstate Council to counteract corruption. The exchange of operative information and experience for the fight against transnational crime was highlighted during the meeting.
The speakers prioritized the strengthening of mutual trust between the CIS prosecutors and expressed conviction that corruption and other adverse phenomena will be minimized through joint efforts.
