Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the Fatherland Defender’s Rehabilitation Center at the YSMU Heratsi N1hospital complex, which was established thanks to the funds of numerous benefactors and private individuals. Accompanied by Minister of Healthcare Arsen Torosyan and Yerevan State Medical University Rector Armen Muradyan, the Premier toured the Center getting acquainted with its amenities, ongoing activities and programs aimed at developing the specialized rehabilitation center created for disabled soldiers.
Armen Muradyan noted that the center functions as a comprehensive rehabilitation center which in addition to disabled soldiers’ health problems, deals with their social integration, education and employment needs. Talking to the patients, the pm asked about their concerns and answered their questions. Nikol Pashinyan thanked them for selfless service and called for the same will in the process of treatment, together with the Center’s professional team, urging the latter to do everything possible to ensure the patients’ speedy recovery and set strategic goals.
“Purposefulness extends the limits of the possible. Also, I want to express my gratitude to your families who handle this situation with great honor. I also ask you for forgiveness for the fact that the Motherland failed to make available all it was supposed to provide. We must collectively map out the problems, identify the priorities and try to address them proceeding from the formula: Motherland should love its citizen and vice versa,” Nikol Pashinyan emphasized, adding that the State will do its utmost to properly appreciate disabled servicemen’s contribution.
The Premier stressed that the rehabilitation center and disabled soldiers will be kept in the spotlight, noting that all problems will be tackled step-by-step. At the same time, the Prime Minister attached great importance to the solution of the problems existing in the Armed Forces and called on the disabled soldiers to share information and experience with the Ministry of Defense.
The Fatherland Defender’s Rehabilitation Center is furnished with State-of-the-art equipment to ensure inmates’ treatment and full rehabilitation. The Center boasts about two dozen cutting-edge equipment, including the walking trainer and Zero-G balance maintenance facilities. This is the only such system in the region and is considered to be one of the best systems to restore the ability to walk. Servicemen with severe injuries received in different periods, including the four-day April war, are currently being treated in the Center.
