Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Shavarsh Kocharyan prefers to speak about the visit of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to Brussels, by analyzing the results. He estimated the PM’s participation in NATO Summit positively. Moreover, the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan are envisaged to meet in NATO Summit frameworks, in Brussels.
Speaking about his expectations from the meeting of the Ministers, Mr. Kocharyan said: “It is evident even with the naked eye, by simply judging from the announcements and actions of Baku that there can be no implications about a progress in the negotiation process.”
Referring to the prevention of the restart of military actions, the Deputy Foreign Minister said: “It is not a coincidence that after St. Petersburg and Vienna the stress is put on it particularly. In reality, as opposed to the duties taken by Azerbaijan there, no actions are undertaken. Azerbaijan has not fulfilled its responsibilities stipulated in trilateral agreement since 1995.”
According to Mr. Kocharyan, the meetings are important to the Republic of Armenia for the latter to be able to advance in keeping stability. Asked if Armenia’s position of making Artsakh a negotiation side is furthered and if Baku wishes for a progress in the negotiation process, Mr. Kocharyan replied: “The resistance of accepting Artsakh as a negotiation side is the evidence that it does not wish for a progress itself.”
Mr. Kocharyan also addressed to the foreign policy of the Republic of Armenia, assuring that it is very simple and plain: it is neither pro-Russian nor pro-western and nor pro-eastern, it is pro-Armenian.
Asked if the rumors holding Europe will cooperate with Armenia in a more comprehensively after the revolution also from the part of the funding, Shavarsh Kocharyan answered: “The future will show. We are ready to communicate with all states.”
