Modest Kolerov: ‘I will say straight away: they are preparing for war’: ‘168 hours’

July 12,2018 18:36

Interview with first-class state advisor to the Russian Federation, editor in chief of Russian “Regnum” news agency, political analyst Modest Kolerov

– The situation at the Karabakh-Azerbaijani contact line and the Azerbaijani actions in Nakhichevan, military exercises, positional changes, military equipment and troop accumulations, militaristic rhetoric, are worrisome. What do you think about the current situation?

– I will say straight away: they are preparing for war. In such a situation when Azerbaijan is preparing for war, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan’s statements are scandalous, inadequate and unacceptable. He shows that nothing new happens, shows that there was no war in April 2016. Well, Serzh Sargsyan’s staff was also doing something similar, you took the government and now you are doing the same. Why did you take the power then? That is all. In Moscow, we do not understand what is going on here. Many questions emerge. First of all, you need to make it clear who is the chief of the country: the Prime Minister or the President, and later we can comment on this. Let me again note about the war: a war is being prepared, and such statements that Mnatsakanyan is making in the threshold of the war, can be qualified as capitulation, and the Prime Minister’s statements as adequate.

– Why do you think Azerbaijan is actively preparing for the war right now?

– Azerbaijan has always been preparing for war. Any revolution weakens the country, and Azerbaijan took part in the revolution as it claims.
