In the first half of 2018, the State Revenue Committee collected 649 billion drams of tax revenues, 496.8 billion of which by tax authorities, 152.9 billion by customs authorities. The Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, David Ananyan, said this at a press conference. According to David Ananyan, “The state budget revenues increased by 88.2 billion drams or 15.6 percent compared to the same period last year”. According to Ananyan, 32.3 billion drams of these amounts were collected in May-June, the growth rate was 16.3 percent.
According to the State Revenue Committee Chairman, more than 1.5 billion drams have been restored to the state budget based on the cases on serious material damage to the state revealed in May-June 2018, investigated by the State Revenue Committee Investigative Department.
According to Ananyan, these disclosed crimes refer to large taxpayers’ activities: “They are engaged in housing construction, road construction, import and trade of goods”.
David Ananyan said that while planning the next year’s state budget revenues it is not right to consider the money revealed as a result of law enforcement activities: “Because we need to evaluate not the amount of money that has been restored, but the number of external sources that have been involved as a result of this activity”.
Ananyan assured that the revenues restored as a result of revealed embezzlements will have a positive impact on state debt service.
