If Yerevan City Council elections are held in the near future (the Council is going to elect a Mayor on Monday), it is not ruled out that the “Heritage” Party will also participate. Party leader Raffi Hovannisian said at a press conference: “We have strong positions in the capital as well. If we participate, we will receive votes, but at this point we do not have such a discussion. The time will come and we will nominate our candidate”.
Hovannisian said if they take part in the elections as an alliance then they will nominate a candidate from the alliance: “There are also other candidates that worth a support. There are such candidates in “Yelq”, “Civil Contract”.
Journalists asked whether what the leader of the “Heritage” Party thinks about the nomination of former “Heritage” Party member Zaruhi Postanjyan as a mayoral candidate by “Yerkir Tsirani” faction. “Postanjyan is an active citizen. She or the “Yelq” candidate who receives the majority of the votes can work as a Mayor. After all, we should have a new Council of Elders that will enjoy Yerevan residents’ trust”.
