Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received a WB delegation led by Deborah Wetzel, Senior Director for the Governance Global Practice.
Appreciating the active and productive cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the World Bank, the Prime Minister expressed the hope that the positive changes taking place in our country might help implement new programs of bilateral cooperation.
Nikol Pashinyan presented his government’s priorities and the ongoing reforms aimed at fighting corruption, dismantling monopolies, promoting economic development, improving the business environment and so on. The Head of Government underscored that the Armenian government is keen to expand cooperation with the Bank in these directions.
Deborah Wetzel assured that the World Bank is prepared to assist the Government with the implementation of the proposed programs and help develop the key sectors of the economy. She welcomed the Government’s commitment to institutional changes, including the drive for open governance, increased transparency and the provision of an investor-friendly environment.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed a broad range of issues related to the development of GoA-WB cooperation.
