– It is the second time you are in Armenia. What plans do you have this time?
– I have come with my family on holidays. However, I wish to help Jiu-Jitsu develop in Armenia. At the same time, I want to inform the whole world that Jiu-Jitsu, especially Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu exists in Armenia. And it is possible for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to become an Olympic sport soon.
– What will you say about the level of Jiu-Jitsu in Armenia and Artsakh?
– Jiu-Jitsu is a new sport in Armenia, but it is in a good condition considering the short terms of its existence here.
– Jiu-Jitsu is a wonderful way for self-defense in various situations. What role may it play in the life of Armenia, which is in a war with Azerbaijan, according to you?
– Assuredly I am familiar with the situation in Armenia. However, my sport is required for all people despite the semi-war or peaceful situation they live in. I believe in Jiu-Jitsu and have devoted my life to it. It is wonderful to all people, starting from small children, ending with adults, without any age limits. It is needed both for the peace of the body and soul and spirit. Jiu-Jitsu is more than fighting. This is a tool which can be applied to reach the whole essence of one’s insight. Consequently, Jiu-Jitsu is necessary for not only practical self-defense in various situations but also self-development.
