The opening ceremony of the statue of the founder of the First Republic of Armenia, Aram Manukyan, at the crossroads of Arami and Nalbandyan streets at the heart of Yerevan was attended by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, President Armen Sarkissian, National Assembly Speaker Ara Babloyan, Deputy Mayor Kamo Areyan and members of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation.

The author of the statue of Aram Manukyan is architect David Minasyan. The statue was placed on the platform adjacent to the Republic Square metro station.

Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II blessed the ceremony.
