At the court session on “Sasna Tsrer” case, freedom fighter Pavel Manukyan addressed judge Mesrop Makyan and made an unexpected statement which was a surprise not only for the other defendants but also for citizens present at the session. He spoke about defendants Smbat Barseghyan and Armen Bilyan, who, let us remind, are charged with the murder of policemen. Let us remind that police officers Yuri Tepanosyan, Gagik Mkrtchyan and Arthur Vanoyan were killed in certain circumstances on the day of the regiment seizure.
“Bilyan and Barseghyan are accused of crimes they have nothing to do with. The persons who have accidentally shot the policemen are in this hall, however, you have changed the detention as a preventive measure against them. The person who was wounded by an accidental shot later died of a blood poisoning (he refers to one of the wounded policemen). The accidental shot was made by Edward Grigoryan, for which Armen Bilyan is being punished. As for the robbery of an ATM, this is carried out by our dear friend Mkhitar Avetisyan”, Pavel Manukyan stated. Let us remind, that some of the group members are accused of robbing an ATM, and Mkhitar Avetisyan’s name is not mentioned among them. Let us note, that Pavel Manukyan referred to more than one person when speaking about the “accidental shot”, however, it was not clear who were those persons.
During the break, journalists tried to clarify the information with Avetisyan and Grigoryan. Let us remind that the latter has been recently released from custody. Mkhitar Avetisyan assured that Pavlik Manukyan’s statement has nothing to do with the reality. Edward Grigoryan claimed the same too. While making his statement, Pavlik Manukyan also noted that he is against injustice and wants everything to be fair.
