Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan visited Armenian second President Robert Kocharyan at “Yerevan-Centre” penitentiary of the Ministry of Justice.
The Ombudsman had a private talk with Robert Kocharyan and examined the cell conditions. A number of issues were discussed with the administration of the penitentiary and were resolved immediately after the talk. Robert Kocharyan did not complain about the penitentiary officials’ behavior.
The Ombudsman’s Staff has initiated a discussion procedure to take the necessary steps within the scope of the powers provided for by the law. The Ombudsman’s Staff is ready to cooperate also with Robert Kocharyan’s defenders.
