It turns out that the Armenian second president Robert Kocharyan’s defenders have submitted a petition to the court for changing the detention as a preventive measure against him, which, however, was refused. Ruben Sahakyan, one of the defenders of Robert Kocharyan, told this in a press conference. “I will not mention the sum of the money. It is quite big, but not mythical”, he noted, adding that the court had not explained the reason for refusing their petition. Let us remind that the former president of Armenia has been remanded into custody for two months.
Ruben Sahakyan said that Robert Kocharyan is writing a book which will be published in the near future: “He has also written that there are no violations of law in the actions of Defense Minister Mikayel Harutyunyan”. The lawyer did not tell any other details. Let us remind that Robert Kocharyan and former Defense Minister Mikayel Harutyunyan are charged with overthrowing the constitutional order. The lawyer expressed an opinion regarding the criminal case: “Without a doubt, Kocharyan will be justified years later”.
