On July 30, the RA NA Vice President Mikayel Melkumyan received the delegation headed by the Vi9ce Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia Mahyudin.
Welcoming the members of the delegation, the Head of Armenia-Indonesia Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Mikayel Melkumyan underlined the importance of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups’ work.
Thanking for the reception, the Vice Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly expressed hope that the Groups would actively cooperate implementing mutually beneficial programmes of bilateral interest.
The Head of the delegation invited the Armenian side to take part in the Parliamentary Forum to be held in Bali on 12-13 September 2018.
Mikayel Melkumyan presented the structure and the activities of the RA Parliament and touched upon the reforms being implemented in the country.
Issues regarding the economic ties, the possibilities and ways of the increase of the trade turnover volumes between the two countries were also discussed. The interlocutors talked about the regional issues, particularly the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, both sides stressing the importance of finding a solution through peaceful means.
On July 28, the members of the delegation headed by the Vice Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia Mahyudin being in Yerevan visited Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex. The guests laid flowers at the monument eternalizing the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims and honoured by bowing the memory of Holy Martyrs.
