“This willingness is fixed in the new program of the Armenian government, but Turkey is not the country to solve problems by active media response”, said Armenian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tigran Balayan at a briefing, referring to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s recent statement that Armenia is ready to establish diplomatic relations with Turkey without preconditions.
“If Turkish authorities send appropriate response that they are ready, we will consider it. There has been no response so far”, noted Tigran Balayan.
He also pointed out the recent official visits of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the statements he made during the visits, which, according to Balayan, do not indicate about readiness to establish diplomatic relations with Armenia: “Those indicate right the opposite”.
