There is no clear agreement on the upcoming meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers on the Artsakh conflict. Armenian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tigran Balayan said this at a briefing. “There is no final agreement, although this issue was discussed at the foreign ministers’ first meeting in Brussels”, he noted.
As for the possible meeting of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Tigran Balayan noted: “Nikol Pashinyan has reaffirmed his readiness, but there is no agreement on that meeting at this point”.
According to Foreign Ministry Spokesman, this meeting cannot be an end in itself: “It should be in the context of reaffirming the Vienna and St. Petersburg agreements. It will provide conditions to ensure progress in the peacebuilding process”.
Let us remind that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s participation in the UN General Assembly summit in New York is already approved.
