Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s participation in the UN General Assembly summit in September has been approved. Armenian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tigran Balayan informed about this at a briefing. “There are discussions on organizing Pashinyan-Donald Trump meeting within that framework. We can already confirm that Nikol Pashinyan will take part in the first and general debate of the summit”, he noted.
Tigran Balayan added: “The Prime Minister is going to have two meetings, including the possible meeting with Trump”.
As to German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s possible visit to Armenia in August, Tigran Balayan said: “It has not been confirmed officially. As long as it is not confirmed, it is too early to talk about our expectations or the outcome of this visit”. According to the Foreign Ministry Spokesman, visits of such level should be announced simultaneously by Armenia and Germany.
