“Preventive measure chosen against Yuri Khachaturov is not a ban for him to leave Armenia for a certain time and the body carrying out the proceeding has informed them of it,” responded the spokeswoman of the Special Investigative Service (SIS) of the Republic of Armenia, Marina Ohanjanyan, answering the question what proceeding the SIS gave to the mediation letter of Mihran Poghosyan, the advocate of Yuri Khachaturov, the Secretary General of CSTO, on allowing Khachaturov to leave for Moscow for his job.
Let us remind you that Mihran Poghosyan, the advocate of Yuri Khachaturov, the Secretary General of CSTO, had presented a mediation letter to the Special Investigative Service, asking to allow Khachaturov to leave for Moscow for a job.
He had substantiated his claim by the following: “Taken the circumstance that Yuri Khachaturov is the Secretary General of an international organization (CSTO), has daily and urgent working responsibilities the failure of which can lead to the disorder of the general functioning of the organization, the decrease of its international reputation, as well as the fact that Yuri Khachaturov has been present in the interrogation at the first call of the body carrying out the proceeding, as well as to avoid of the unfavorable consequences provided by Provision 6 of Article 143 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, we have presented a letter of mediation to the SIS, however, we have not received any response on the mediation until presently.”
Asked if Mr Khachaturov was free to leave for Moscow at any moment, Marina Ohanjanyan responded: “Yuri Khachaturov can leave for Moscow for a certain period of time.”
