“I do not know why Lavrov thinks that way, but the new authorities of the Republic of Armenia have never announced that the crimes will not be disclosed. They have said no “vendetta” will take place, that is, no revenge beyond the judiciary is going to take place,” said Armenian political scientist, Ara Papyan, addressing to the announcement of the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, on the detention of the Second President of the Republic of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, which read: “The events in the Republic of Armenia contradict the announcements of the new leadership of the country promising that the officials taking their positions prior to them would not be subject to political prosecutions.”
As characterized by him, the society has demanded March 1 case disclosure for 10 years, thus the authorities carry out certain steps aiming to disclose the case: “Inasmuch as the president and the Supreme Commander-in-Chief was Robert Kocharyan in 2008, he was called and interrogated and “isolated”, for him not to have an influence on the further investigation.”
