General Prosecutor’s Office has rejected the mediation of the Members of the National Assembly of Armenia on changing the preventive measure – detention of the Second President of the Republic of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, informed the Department of Public Relations to “ArmenPress”.
“At the present phase of the preliminary investigation the grounds on choosing detention as a preventive measure against Robert Kocharyan are preserved and the choice of other preventive measures not connected with detention is not still in the power to guarantee the unimpeded process of the investigation connected with the defendant’s decent behavior,” said Arevik Khachatryan, the Head of the Department of Public Relations of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia.
