Former Defense Minister of Armenia not indicted

August 10,2018 18:38

The head of the Special Investigation Service, Sasun Khachatryan was asked whether Seyran Ohanyan was indicted. Mr. Khachatryan replied: “There has been no statement on that, thus Seyran Ohanyan has not been indicted”.

In response to the remark that Gagik Tsarukyan’s name has also been linked to the March 1 case, Special Investigation Service Head refused to say anything: “There are many hypotheses, all of which are being examined, I cannot talk about those until there are details”.

Asked whether how many defendants in the case of March 1 have become victims of the case, Mr. Khachatryan responded that the case is being reinvestigated with all important circumstances: “If we take into account that the preliminary investigation body did not attempt to detect and attach such an important document, such as the secret 0038 order to the case and investigate it during the past 10 years, then we have suspicions that there are other documents too which are in the focus of the investigation now. Naturally, there will be new victims. I cannot say whether people indicted before will turn out to be victims or not, but today we have a tendency that those who were afraid to testify about their bodily injuries before, now they apply and give information they possess about the case”.
