In response to the question whether the weapons disclosed in former Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan’s property have connection to the March 1 case, Arthur Vanetsyan said that as a result of operative work, data were obtained that were hidden weapons related to the weapons used on March 1, but it is still a version that should be checked.
Asked whether those weapons were used against the demonstrators, the National Security Service Head said that the results will be clear after the investigation: “According to preliminary operative data, there is such a presumption”.
In response to the question whether he believes that Hovik Abrahamyan is connected to the March 1 case, for instance, whether he has ordered his supporters to open fire on the demonstrators, Vanetsyan said: “I cannot tell such detail at this point. I can only say that we have found weapons, which, according to our preliminary operative data, could be used on March 1-2, 2008”.
Asked whether the weapons were used by Hovik Abrahamyan, Mr. Vanetsyan replied that those were used by persons who were not included in the law enforcement system. Arthur Vanetsyan was not aware whether Hovik Abrahamyan was invited for interrogation, he urged to address the question to the head of the Special Investigation Committee.
