“Armenia aims to distinguish between national court proceedings and CSTO, also to provide and guarantee the natural and uninterrupted functioning of CSTO Secretariat,” said the temporary spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Anna Naghdalyan, referring to the process of the replacement of CSTO Secretary General, Yuri Khachaturov.
Let us remind you that the Republic of Armenia has initiated the process of the replacement of Khachaturov, inasmuch as an appeal is lodged against him on March 1 case for violating the constitutional order.
Asked if the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia discussed who would replace Yuri Khachaturov in the position of the Secretary-General of CSTO, Anna Naghdalyan mentioned: “We have initiated a replacement process, and the rest are within the field of CSTO inner discussions. It should be discussed by CSTO Council.”
Anna Naghdalyan also informed that CSTO regular Summit is going to take place soon, and before those inner discussions on Khachaturov’s replacement are in process: “The discussions will be presented to the confirmation of CSTO Council. There is lots of work to do until October during the working discussions.”
