Armenian parliament member Gagik Tsarukyan’s head bodyguard Eduard Babayan has been released from custody. His lawyer Armen Melkonyan confirmed this information.
The court considered the information provided by the defendant’s lawyers sufficient to release Babayan on bail. His bail is 20 million dram. Babayan’s lawyer Armen Melkonyan said this in an interview, adding that the bail money has already been paid.
Tsarukyan’s head bodyguard has been in custody since July 3rd. He was accused of severely hurting Vyacheslav Harutyunyov.
The investigation committee had announced that on July 2nd at 21:30, it received information from the ‘Armenia’ medical center that a man had been admitted to the hospital who had broken ribs and other injuries.
It was announced that, according to prior information, the victim had received the injuries during an incident at the ‘Olympic’ gymnasium in Yerevan’s Davtashen district on July 2nd. During an examination of the gymnasium, traces of blood were found.
