At the moment, Belgian King Philippe, the queen, and their four children are on vacation in Armenia.
Aravot.am tried to find out from President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian’s cabinet and from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs whether the royal family is visiting Armenia on an invitation from a government official. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated the royal family’s visit is a private one and no invitation was sent.
The office of the President of Armenia’s committee on social affairs, regarding the question about whether the traditionally hospitable Armenian people have planned any gathering to welcome the royal family, stated, “We cannot publish any more details since the visit is a private one.”
The MFA also said that they do not have any information regarding events.
According to our sources, the Belgian king is very impressed by Armenia.
