The Armenian ambassador to Ukraine, Andranik Manukyan, submitted his resignation. He wrote about it on his Facebook page.
“Friends, there are still a few days left of my vacation. I have spent a short amount of time in a relatively calm environment, and that gave me time to think about an important decision.
I have decided to leave my diplomatic work.
This decision has been growing on me for some time. Here’s a little secret: I have asked in Yerevan several times to allow me to come back home, the last time being this past May, but every time my request was denied. I was asked to please continue my work as the ambassador to Ukraine.
The problem isn’t even that I have worked as the ambassador to Ukraine for two full terms and have gone over my term limit for the position.
It’s that new things are taking place in Armenia, and I truly think that the time has come to allow younger people to take my place and to make it grow and become better.
I hope that I will receive a positive response this time,” Manukyan wrote.
