Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin said on Tuesday that his country will promote military and technical cooperation with Iran to meet their international commitments. IRNA reports.
In a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Brigadier General Qasem Taqizadeh, he added, “We have extensive cooperation with Iran in fighting terrorism which will also continue in future.”
“Moscow is satisfied with the level of the two countries’ military and technical ties and it knows that mutual cooperation will further improve, as Russia plans to enhance relations with Iran in view of its international commitments,” he said.
Referring to Iran-Russia cooperation in fighting terrorism, he said that his country will support fair campaigns against terrorism.
Fighting terrorism is one of the major parts of Tehran-Moscow cooperation and Russian believes that the two sides should step up efforts in this respect, Fomin said.
