August 22,2018 16:35

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a press conference spoke about criticism of his speech after the gathering. “I’m not trying to force anyone to do anything. I just want to tell everyone to take into consideration the people’s opinion and perspective.”

Regarding the question of whether the Republican Party can vote in a National Assembly election for Kocharyan to be the prime minister, for example, Pashinyan answered, “To be honest, I don’t see the possibility of that happening. We simply have to look at the situation realistically while avoiding making things more difficult. Do you remember when I met Serzh Sargsyan? I told him that he isn’t looking a the situation correctly, and I think that the Republican Party, under his leadership, is continuing to not look at the situation realistically.”

Regarding the question of what he plans to do about that, the prime minister answered, “There’s no need to do anything. I simply have to talk to and help people to judge the situation more realistically. There’s no need to organize anything else right now.”

Pashinyan, in reference to Speaker of the National Assembly Ara Babloyan’s evaluation that he sees danger, said, “There is no danger to anyone in the Republic of Armenia. This was a revolution of love and solidarity, and the Republic of Armenia is governed by love and solidarity.”

He said that he will definitely meet with the president of the National Assembly and will talk to him to ensure that there is no fear. “It’s important to us that all citizens, including members of parliament, understand current political activities and that nobody has any worries.”
