Russia continues to show its support in finding a peaceful resolution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this in Sochi during a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, reports “RIA Novosti.”
“Of course, we exchanged our opinions regarding international and regional issues, particularly of course the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. As one of the leaders of the Minsk group, Russia will continue to make all efforts to support a peaceful resolution to the conflict,” Putin said.
Putin also mentioned that Russian-Azerbaijani relations are based on mutual partnership and are mutually beneficial, but these recent negotiations will be another incentive to better their relations.
“Russia and Azerbaijan are strongly connected through positive ties and cooperation. Our countries’ relationships are based on mutual partnership and are mutually beneficial. They are based on positive relations and respecting each other’s benefits,” Putin said.
