Member and spokesperson of the “Civil Contract” political party Vahan Kostanyan said that the “My Step” alliance collected 22,198,652 dram during their pre-election fundraiser event. “We also have been promised a donation of 20 million dram,” he said.
Kostanyan also said that the number of people invited to the event was approximately 300, but he was unable to say how many of those people donated. He guessed that most of them did. The smallest donation was 5 thousand dram, and the largest was a few million.
Were some of the donators famous people from social-political or business frameworks? “To be honest, since the event was private, I don’t have permission from anyone to say their name. Members of the City Council and people they invited were there, and our City Council candidates are perhaps already famous and public figures,” he said.
Were business owners present? “I think there were, but I didn’t recognize anyone. I know that the owner of Menu.am, Vahan Kerobyan, was there.” The spokesman could only remember Vahan Kerobyan. He was unable to mention the names of other businessmen, since he never spoke with them to recognize their faces.
