Around a hundred women gathered for the second Women Entrepreneurs’ Club in Yerevan on 30 August.
Leading women entrepreneurs representing creative industries, tourism, IT and business consulting came together to exchange their experience and build new business connections and cooperation opportunities, facilitated by a format of open networking and business speed dating.
“More participation of women in entrepreneurship and the narrowing of the gender gap (also in wages) would contribute to fostering a productive private sector that creates more jobs,” said Ambassador Piotr Switalski, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia. “We need more women in Armenia’s start-up economy and more women in top leadership positions in business.”
The event was organised for the second time in the framework of the EU-funded ‘Support to SME Development in Armenia’ (SMEDA) project. The project aims to hold meetings of the club on a monthly basis, in order to strengthen and empower the women of Armenia in business.
