Samvel Farmanyan: We don’t have possibility for slip-ups in foreign politics

September 06,2018 14:38

“No matter what our desires or feelings are, international relations have their own unbreakable rules,” Republican Party member of parliament Samvel Farmanyan told reporters, opposing the view that Nikol Pashinyan announced when he said that he will bring equal principles to Armenian-Russian relations. Samvel Farmanyan stated that the USA, France, Montenegro, Nepal, and Armenia do not have the same opportunities and its impossible for them too. “It’s another thing if a government creates its own politics, thinks about its own gains, and uses anything possible to pursue the nation’s benefits.”

Samvel Farmanyan would be happy if during this difficult time in world politics, Armenia’s current authorities would at least keep the same relationship with Russia as they did in the past. He didn’t want to talk about deepening the context of those relations.

He thinks that the current state of the world and regional politics is dangerous. “In the field of world politics, if we were to be very careful in the past, the now, I don’t know if we have the possibility of allowing ourselves to slip up. I don’t think we do.”
