The parliament can dissolve if there is no activity, but that is not the current situation. Republican Party member of parliament Samvel Farmanyan spoke about this to reporters in parliament.
“Since there is no isolated mechanism from the idea of constitutional changes, I cannot state my opinion. In regard to dissolving parliament, I think that that’s not the best route, even from the perspective of the organizers and from the perspective of that being a solution to problems we face,” said Samvel Farmanyan, adding that if the hypothetical constitutional changes will not be in connection with changes in the system of government, then any step that will decrease the parliament’s credit will damage the state and state system.
Samvel Farmanyan thinks that the problems, however, need to be solved through political means. He does not foresee inactivity in parliament or a political crisis in the country. He does not dispute that the current parliament does not reflect society’s mood. He added that if that weren’t the case, then the majority of parliament and the working authorities would present the same force as the governmental system suggests.
