The Special Investigation Service filed a case against the former police chief, Vladimir Gasparyan, and how he obtained his home. Reporters asked the current police chief Valery Osipyan what his opinion is on this after the government session. Osipyan said, “Everyone is equal according to the law.”
Regarding the question of whether or not a police chief can buy such a beautiful mansion with the salary they receive, Osipyan said, “You cannot buy such a house with any salary in the Republic of Armenia.”
If it’s proven that Vladimir Gasparyan is guilty, will he be held responsible according to the law? The police chief said, “In my opinion, yes.”
The police chief, in regard to the investigation of former President Serzh Sargsyan’s nephew Narek Sargsyan, said that he is working together closely with Interpol to find Narek Sargsyan. “We have to wait patiently. This is the kind of case that demands patience and a lot of work. It’s impossible for someone to hide somewhere they can’t be found. We are working together closely with the Interpol central bureau. Our work with Interpol will have its results sooner or later.”
