“The current law does not allow me to say anything else. But everyone will know very soon,” said Deputy Minister of Defense Gabriel Balayan, neither confirming nor denying the publicized information that the Armenian Armed Forces will send peacekeeping troops to Syria and that discussions are being held with Russia regarding that topic.
When asked whether or not this is about a project that was being discussed while Vigen Sargsyan was still the defense minister, Gabriel Balayan said, “No.”
According to the deputy minister, the humanitarian plans that are being discussed and carried out with Russia are unprecedented. Such plans have never been discussed in the past.
