Soldier of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces Shabanov Farid Akif (Şabanov Fərid Akif oğlu) was killed on July 22, 2018 from Armenian gunfire towards Beylagan (towards Martuni).
The news of the soldier’s death spread on social media. The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, however, did not mention anything about his death. Shabanov Farid was buried with full military honors, just as it is accepted for any death in combat.
After additional research from open sources, we can say that the soldier was most likely from the Azerbaijani 181st motorized rifle brigade (Fizuli-Martuni region). He was a soldier of the intelligence regiment.
