In front of the historic Moscow Cinema on Aznavour Square today, the Heritage Party gathered its candidates, volunteers, and media representatives to open its election campaign for the capital’s mayor and city council.
Mayoral candidate Raffi K. Hovannisian addressed the assembly, calling on his fellow citizens to vote, freely and conscientiously, for a mother-city of dignity, decency, and world-class leadership. “Smile, we have triumphed together. And now we are going to build Our capital of New Armenia.” “Welcome to the New Yerevan, where citizen rules,” he said in Armenian, French, Russian, and English.
Leading city-council candidates Armen Martirosyian, Hovsep Khurshudyan, Seda Aghbalyan, and Sona Malkhasyan spoke with spirit about the Heritage Party’s election platform, vision, and inclusive public outreach. They then led a procession of Heritage supporters through the streets of central Yerevan, thus launching the campaign that will culminate on September 23 with the city’s choice.
