The candidate for mayor of the “Luys” alliance, current Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan is currently not commenting on Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s announcement that several forces are making themselves seem like supporters of the revolution, however they are actually negotiating with the Republican Party so that the revolutionary forces will support them through rigging the election. “I didn’t have time to listen to his speech, but I’ll say this: parliamentary elections need to take place in Armenia. That is mandatory,” Artak Zeynalyan told reporters.
The Yerevan City Council elections will take place on September 23rd, in which the “Bright Armenia” and “Republic” political parties will be participating through the “Luys” alliance.
When asked if the Republican Party is supporting him, Artak Zeynalyan said, “I am the candidate for mayor of the “Luys” alliance and I expect that there will be no conflict in Yerevan.” Regarding the question of whether or not the Republicans made any promises to support him, Artak Zeynalyan answered, “No, we have made no agreements with anyone. We’re only making an agreement with the inhabitants of Yerevan. The inhabitants have to choose their mayor. We have not made any agreements with any political party. We have not made any illegal or immoral agreements with anyone.”
