September 12,2018 16:36

“Over the past ten days, the frequency of Azerbaijan firing on our villages has increased,” said the chief of staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Artak Davtyan, in a meeting with reporters.

He mentioned that this incident is likely not in connection with the “Shant 2018” military trainings. The overall issue continued before then. There has been no damage yet due to the shellings; it’s more of a psychological issue. The chief of staff officially announced that there have been gunshots. “Even yesterday, Baghanis, Koti, the road between Voskepar-Baghanis, Vazashen, and Chinari were fired upon. There have been orders from our side to not open fire on Azerbaijani villages, so we fire appropriately to stop them from firing. We are ready to retaliate in any case, and in cases of danger, similar orders will be given.”

Artak Davtyan said that this year, in comparison to previous years, has been more active along Nakhichevan. But he does not predict an increase in activity over the next few days.
