Regarding the information published about Hayk Kyureghyan’s return, who is currently in the “Vardashen” penitentiary institution, the human rights defender of Armenia ordered that the issue be discussed with the administration at the “Vardashen” penitentiary.
According to the explanation presented to the human rights defender, Hayk Kyureghyan presented a short departure three times, the last one having ended on September 10th, in accordance with the legislative limits. On the next day, Hayk Kyureghyan presented the penitentiary’s administration with an application in regard to giving him another month departure.
It became clear that the discussion regarding his application was postponed due to the 3-day “Shant” 2018 military trainings, but his application will be accepted.
After going through the appropriate procedures, Hayk Kyureghyan will be given a short leave from the “Vardashen” penitentiary- meaning that he will be released.
