“I would like for Nikol Pashinyan to put his hand over his heart and tell us who the white forces are and who the black forces are,” said the candidate for Yerevan mayor of the “Yerevantsi” alliance, Ararat Zurabyan. “If we lead by standards to see who’s white and who’s back, then I won’t be able to find anyone who’s whiter than I am. But I don’t want to place people in any sort of color scheme, because there are many difference colors and because they might become offended by any color I’d label them. I don’t want to offend anyone,” Ararat Zurabyan said, adding that he also thinks that people’s actions are important, which can’t be summarized in one or 20 days. “For example, it’s interesting when that honesty and patriotism began, since it started for me when the movement began in 1988. I became a member of the movement from the first day. When it was necessary, I defended my country with a gun in my hand, and when it was necessary, I was a part of the political process. I fought against the former regime for 20 years, I have been to jails, and I’ve been subject to a lot of pressure. My mood and my goals have not changed.”
