September 15,2018 14:38

Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan held another phone conversation with Children’s Rights Defender of the Netherlands, Margrite Kalvenboer, regarding the two Armenian children’s deportation from the Netherlands.

The Netherlands ombudsman informed Tatoyan that, after taking into consideration what is most beneficial to the children, the decision to deport them has been canceled. Lily and Hovik will continue to live in the Netherlands. Arman Tatoyan also said that they are trying to understand the basis for the decision.

A few days ago during a phone conversation, the Netherlands ombudsman assured the Armenian human rights defender that the issue of the Armenian children is at the center of her attention and she will make every effort to postpone the deportation so that she can make the children’s documentation and the security of their rights a focal point in discussions.
