September 8th was the last day in which media outlets and observation organizations were able to enroll in the Central Electoral Commission to follow the upcoming Yerevan City Council elections on September 23rd. It has already been announced that there will be no observers from other countries. The CEC announced that 662 observers from 8 local organizations and 598 representatives of 49 media outlets will be participating. Ten of the representatives are from 5 overseas media outlets.
The most observers come from the “Union of Informed Citizens,” which will have 135 observers. “Foundation Against the Violation of the Law” has the least with 14 observers. 68 people will be representing the armrus.info media outlet. One person from “Armenian World” and one person from “AMI Novosti-Armenia” were registered. This activity from armrus.info is surprising. As of September 14th at 2:13 PM, the last article published on the website was from August 3rd at 7:32 PM, 41 days ago.
The most active was the “Journalists Asbarez Club” organization. 97 observers enrolled as well as 54 reporters.
