On 18 September, the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Świtalski, participated in an event launching a new organic agriculture module on the curriculum of vocational education and training (VET) institutions in the country. A new methodological handbook for teachers and practical handbook for students have also been launched.
The event took place in the framework of the EU-funded Organic Agriculture Support Initiative. The EU believes these courses can boost students’ career opportunities in the newly emerging – yet competitive – organic sector, and help ensure Armenia has a large number of highly skilled professionals in sustainable agriculture-related jobs.
Young people are at the heart of the EU’s cooperation with its Eastern Partner countries and the EU has been the main donor to reforms of the VET sector in Armenia.
