Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the Veterans’ Union in honor of the 27th anniversary of Armenian independence and spoke to veterans.
The prime minister, when asked if we really were able to live freely over the past 27 years, responded, “Now people feel it… I hope that Armenian citizens feel independent and proud. We have to smooth the road out together.”
When asked if the electoral campaigns truly were carried out in a unified environment or if there were distractions, Nikol Pashinyan answered, “Campaigning is the type of phenomenon which is normal in any democracy. People get emotional, there are debates, and there are arguments, but what’s important is that everything happens within the limits of the law. By the way, I know that the Prosperous Armenia candidate for mayor has expressed worry about insults people write about her on the internet. I want to express my full support for her and express that it’s truly unacceptable for any Armenian citizen to insult another Armenian citizen. Of course, it happens that people get fired up, that’s understandable, but overall, everything needs to be done in order to keep an environment of mutual respect.”
